Welcome to my Magical World!

I've always had a close affinity with Fantasy, I guess you could credit my father...he took me to see Disney's

"Fantasia" when I was four and I've been hooked ever since.

My first true love is unicorns, there is a deep spiritual connection within me to the symbolism the unicorn represents,

the virtues it exemplifies, and the desire to see the true beauty, grace and purity it exhibits. That yearning has

influenced my art for decades, no matter what materials I work with I always create a unicorn. I've made faeries and

mermaids, a few dragons...even griffins! But it always returns to unicorns.

The Unicorn

A fabulous beast from mythology...it's described as having a combination of aspects from different animals:
The head and body of a sleek white horse,
legs and hooves of an antelope,
a mane and a tail like a lion,
a horn and a beard like a goat.
It's beauty and grace undeniable, both a gentle creature and a fierce, aggressive fighter.

Did it ever truly exist?

People have believed in unicorns for over 4,000 years, searching for them, writing about them,
painting them and sculpting them. Unicorns do exist...in the heart and in the soul.
If a special unicorn touches your heart, finding a cherished place in your life and brings you happiness...
then there is the proof of the unicorn's existence.

In my belief of and love for them, I've used my talents to create representations of that noble and elegant creature.
Each one is an original hand-shaped piece fastidiously worked on until I’m satisfied
with its look, character and unique personality.

Because of a request from a friend, I created a unicorn for her with polymer clay and that got me started

Sculpting and selling on eBay. It brought me back to the world of art that I had been away from for

awhile, learning new and different techniques that made creating Sculptures exciting for me.

In 2006 I started Needle Felting, another form of sculpting done with wool and I have found I really

enjoy the ability to take a wad of fiber fill, wool, or yarn, a couple of glass beads or glass eyes

and turn them into a creation with personality.

My art was interrupted by surgery on my left thumb which kept me from working for months during

the second half of 2006. Fortunately it was a complete success and I've been able to resume

both crafts as time permits.
